Male Rhinoplasty - Is the Surgery Healthy Way to Go?

Recently somebody asked me what I think about cosmetic surgery; specifically about male rhinoplasty since the person who asked me was a man. For the people who do not know what a male rhinoplasty is, it is a nose operation performed on men, with the goal of improving imperfections from aesthetic point of view.
Generally, I do not agree with plastic surgery at all and I find it absolutely unnecessary. First of all, if you are doing it to improve your self esteem I must tell you that there are other much better and reliable ways of doing that. Surgery does not have to be the only choice for you. Second, there are certain health risks associated with such kind of procedures. People who are interested in undergoing this kind of surgery should be informed of such possible dangers. Rhinoplasty recovery lasts for months and it is no always successful and painless.
Therefore I am raising the question about whether male rhinoplasty can be considered safe at all. On the other hand there are always cases of people who took the rhinoplasty procedure and returned with excellent results and had extremely quick recovery. If you think that male rhinoplasty can be a healthy step for you than by all means don’t hesitate to do it, but at least learn more about this procedure.

Plant sterols have been shown to lower blood cholesterol levels, depending on how much you eat. They block the ability of the body to absorb cholesterol back into the body and as such it passes harmlessly out of your system. Plant sterols can lower total cholesterol by an average of 10 percent. You can get plant sterols from the foods such as nuts, seeds and legumes, bread and cereals, fruit and vegetables (but in small amounts). If you have high cholesterol and need to lower it you will find it very difficult to get enough in by these foods alone. In order to have a cholesterol lowering effect you will need 2 to 3 grams of plant sterols per day. This means 2 to 3 serves of plant sterol enriched foods per day, and these are now available in many supermarkets.
One serve of plant sterol enriched food is equivalent to:
* 2 teaspoons of plant sterol enriched margarine spread
* 1 cup of plant sterol enriched breakfast cereal or 2 breakfast biscuits
* 1 cup of plant sterol enriched milk
* 1 200-grams tub of plant sterol enriched yoghurt
EAT NUTS TO PREVENT CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASES
With cardiovascular disease the leading cause of death particularly for older men and women after menopause, eating nuts may provide some protection against CVD. A range of studies has found that those who enjoy a handful of nuts daily significantly lower their risk of heart disease and lower their cholesterol.
Men… Are you a health risk?

Women are simply healthier than men. Of the leading causes of death in most countries, men lead the way in the number of deaths - and on average they will die five years before their wives.
The problem lies with men’s laissez-faire attitude to their health. They do not perceive health as a priority to take preventive measures. But clearly, they need to make it one because the leading causes of death are mostly preventable.
The top health threats to men include coronary heart disease, stroke, lung cancer, other heart diseases, prostate cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, bowel cancer, unknown primary site cancers, diabetes and suicide.
Small lifestyle changes can impact greatly on reducing health risk. By eating healthily, exercising regularly, not smoking, drinking in moderation and maintaining a healthy weight, these health threats can be reduced. Having regular check-ups with a physician is the first step toward better health for men. Know the state of your health and what threats you are predisposed to. The following regular tests are recommended and can identify these health risks. These tests include:
* Cholesterol - should be checked every five years from the age of 45
* Blood pressure - should be checked every two years
* Blood glucose tests - should be checked every three years from the age of 55 (or earlier at 45 years if risk factors are prevalent)
* Fecal Occult Blood Test (FOBT) - for bowel cancer screening should be done every two years from the age of 50.
So make health a priority. Know if you are at risk and manage that health threat by making some changes in your lifestyle. Start by making an appointment with your GP today.
Prevalence of Sexually Transmitted Diseases

Sex is much more than an issue of reproduction. With it comes different issues ranging from pleasure to pain, from life to death. Like the danger of sexually transmitted diseases that may result from a few minutes of sexual pleasure. Sexually transmitted infections have far-ranging effects in terms of reproductive health of the male and female, and the survival of the unborn child.
The most infamous of these sexually transmitted infections is the dreaded AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome). This disease has wreaked havoc in many parts of the world beginning the discovery of the human immuno-deficiency virus in the early 1980s.
According to the World Health Organization, a lot of developing countries, those in the Southeast Asian region included, are in danger of an AIDS epidemic if people do not watch out. But unlike its neighboring countries, the Philippines seems to be an exception to the rule with its low AIDS incidence. The surveillance and advocacy efforts of both the government and concerned citizens have done a lot of help. But it does not mean that we have no reason to slacken the efforts to contain the disease, because the danger of this Acquired ImmunoDeficiency Syndrom can catch us unawares anytime.
