Latest Trends on Skin care Products !!

January 4, 2009 by Jegan Smiles

Do you want to know about the latest trends in Skincare products? Then head to the site mentioned here. This is a cool site to get yourself updated on the skincare performance. I had always wanted to know how beauty products work and how people use them in their daily life. So I sat down and made a detailed search on this topic , there was a particular site where I found an unbiased review of the latest makeover product called the Hydroderm. You know why I call it unbiased its because as far as I know this is the only review that also brings out the negatives of the product. I have read so many product reviews but most of them are optimistic to the core and do not showcase any negative response. The reviews written in the site are well split up into so that the author is able to deal with them separately. The reviews start with an overview which tells you how the product came into the market , then comes the product details which are more specific and inform you everything about the product. The highlight here is that the pros and cons of the product are shown separately so that the reader is able to form an idea as to whether it will work for him/her. If you are still in a state of dilemma then just continue reading the bottom line section which gives the final verdict. Hope you find this site helpful………………

Exercising For Your Bones

Taking care of our bones, especially as we age, it important to keep them strong and less prone to breaking. Exercise is one thing that we can all do to help keep our bones in their best shape possible. If we do not exercise our bones, they will simply weaken over time.
Weight bearing exercise is the best type of exercise to stimulate bone growth. Bones will become stronger when stresses are placed upon them. Bones will also make more bone when they sense stress or impulses from activity. This is called Wolff’s Law. But only the bones that are stressed will get stronger. That is why jogging will strengthen the bones in your feet, legs and even hips but will do nothing for the bones in your wrist or arm area.
A very good form of weight bearing exercise, especially for women, is weightlifting. A good weight lifting program can strengthen bones throughout your body. Remember, exercise that does not stress bones will not grow them. So it is important to include more exercise than just swimming or walking–which will not do much for strengthening your bones.
And before starting a new exercise regime, it is always good to check with your doctor.

Make Walking Your New Year’s Resolution

Happy New Years!

There is one resolution that probably outweighs just about any other when it comes to your health, except maybe to stop smoking. It is simple enough to do, free, and is so beneficial to your cardiovascular health. What is it? Walking.

Researchers have spent years studying the effects of weight loss on heart health, and have concluded that burning about a 1,000 calories a week through exercise was enough to make a significant decrease in the risk of heart disease in women who are obese.

If you get out and walk several times a week for about half an hour, you can probably burn about 125 to 200 calories. Of course, the exact amount will depend on your size and how hard you work out. And remember, exercise in any form is simply good for your heart. Exercise helps lower blood pressure and increases blood vessel function.

So even if you make no other resolutions this New Year’s Eve, promise yourself that you will get out and walk a few times a week. Aim to burn 1,000 calories a week for you and your heart!

February is American Heart Month

Heart disease is a leading cause of death among women. February is American Heart Month, and The American Heart Association’s has some recent guidelines, which now focus on reducing a woman’s lifetime risk of heart disease.
These guidelines include:

Exercise for at least 30 minutes a day. If you are trying or need to lose weight, increase that time to 60-90 minutes.

Watch your weight and control your blood pressure. Regular exercise, drinking less alcohol, watching the sodium in your diet, and eating more fruits and veggies will help you achieve better weight and keep the blood pressure under control.

Increase your Omega -3 fatty acids in your diet. Salmon, albacore tuna, mackerel, sardines, herring, and lake trout provide excellent sources of these healthy fats. Women with known heart disease may also wish to take omega-3 supplements.

Quit Smoking.

Lower your daily intake of saturated fat. You should try to keep the saturfated fats in your daily diet to 7% of your total daily calories.
To figure out the percentage of fat calories, 1) multiply the grams of saturated fat by 9 to get total calories from fat; 2) divide total calories from fat by the total calories in the serving; and 3) multiply total calories by 100 to get the percentage.

Men Need More Fruit and Vegetables Than Women

We all know fruits and veggies are essential for our health but did you know that men are actually advised to have more servings each day than women? While 7 servings of fruit and vegetables are recommended for women, nine servings daily is recommended for men.
The reasoning behind the increased servings for men is that more men are overweight than are women . About two thirds of men are considered to be obese or overweight. Also, more men die from certain diseases than do women. Diseases such as Cardiovascular disease, Lung cancer, and Colorectal cancer generally have a higher rate of death in men than in women.
The vitamins, minerals, fiber and disease-fighting phytochemicals in many fruits and veggies help reduce the risk of many cancers, heart disease, high blood pressure and diabetes.
Need a goal for the New Year? There is probably not a much better one than improving your health, and for men and women, increasing your servings of fruits and vegetables is an excellent way to start!

Take the time

You know the phrase “Take the time to smell the roses”? Well, I say, “take the time to roll down a hill!” Today I took the kids to the park. We have this huge park in town that has recently undergone a beautiful makeover. The grass is green, the playground is clean, the PARK is clean, and the nature is beautiful. It’s a very, very large park with lots of rolling hills!

Well, the kids and I picked up some icecream and headed to the park. The sun was shining bright as we ate and enjoyed the nature. One of the kids said he wanted to roll down the hill, so I said go ahead. He had a ton of fun. I then realized I too, at the age of 26, really wanted to roll down that hill! So he stayed with the baby (toddler, really) at the top of the hill and videotaped me (with my cell) rolling down the hill.

We were laughing SO hard! Today we had such a good time and I encourage you to just do something crazy. Jump in the leaves, roll down a hill, or run through the sprinklers. It’s beneficial to your health to have so much fun. :)

Cracked Lips

I was reading on Your Natural Remedies a great tip for cracked lips…honey…And it is just so sweet too. The thing is that when you have honey on your lips you are just tempted to lick it off especially if you like the taste of honey. That is why if you mix it with a little olive oil - not only will it stay on better but you may not want to eat it off your mouth :) This is great for cracked nails too. However I really think that you have to just stay hydrated to have things like nice hair, nails and skin. You can put on a ton of stuff on the outside but you have to be eating and drinking right!

WATER - Drink for your health.

Water is necessary for your body to digest and absorb vitamins and nutrients. It also detoxifies the liver and kidneys, and carries away waste from the body. And when it comes to digestion . . . it’s just not happening without water. Fiber alone cannot aid proper digestive function by itself. In fact, without water as its partner, good fiber goes bad, causing constipation and extreme discomfort.

Almost 2/3rds of our body weight is “water weight”:
Blood is 83% water
Muscles are 75% water
The brain is 74% water
Bone is 22% water
Simple water — when it’s pure and free of contaminants.” Without chemicals, additives, or anything unnatural, a steady dose of 8 glasses of water a day (ideally ½ your body weight in ounces of water) will:
Improve Your Energy
Increase Your Mental and Physical Performance
Remove Toxins & Waste Products from your body
Keep Skin Healthy and Glowing
Help You Lose Weight
Reduce Headaches and Dizziness
Allow for proper Digestion

So drink and drink more water for your healthy life.
