Diet Soda and Breaking Out

February 8, 2009 by Deni D

I have not broke out like this since high school and the only think that I can attribute to this sudden break out is diet soda.  I accidentally got diet soda last week and I have been drinking it and ever since then I have had break outs on the t-zone of my face.  It is very upsetting to say the least!  I think it could be the phenylenalene that is the cause of it. Did you know that this also attributes to childhood hyperactivity!  And they have this stuff in the Flintstone vitamins because they want them to taste good.  That is just horrible and I wrote to the company to say how wrong that is!

Breastmilk Treats Cancer

I have always been a person that believe that breastmilk is truly best not only for the baby but also for the mom. I think that it has amazing properties that we do not even realize. I used breastmilk for my daughters blocked tear duct as well as her pink eye and it cleared it up so fast. And I have even put it on minor cuts or scraps and it really works. I think that there should be much more studies done on this rather than studies on what goes faster - ketchup out of the jar or ketchup out of a container. The money that is wasted on stupid studies is amazing and amazingly stupid!

Manuka Honey

i was reading up on Manuka Honey….this stuff is really great. It is great to have every day too if you want to keep the colds and illnesses away. But it is great for your skin. There are many products out there now that actually sell face creams and soaps with manuka honey in it. I got some from Amazon for Christmas. You just have to be careful with sellers on this site for products like this. I got some last year and one of the things I got expired that month! And this year the same thing happened. It is like they are clearing out there inventory…but it has expired and that is just not right. So be sure to always check the expiration date for things like this!

Hangovers

So, they say that there is not cure for hangovers…well…that may be so but there are a lot of things that can help speed up the recovery process. Water is probably the best because you are extremely dehydrated no doubt. Coffee willl not help you at all…probably even make you sick. My friends swore by tomato juice or gadorade. Gadorade actually would make sense because it is a drink that will help you hydrate and balance your fluids in your system. The best thing is to just drink in moderation so you can avoid this whole hangover thing. It really is not worth it in my opinion.

Insomnia

I was reading a great article and list of tips to help with your insomnia problems that was very interesting. I love reading up on these sort of helpful tips and cures for common ailments like insomnia. I don’t know about you but insonmia is a terrible thing to have especially when you know that you have to get to sleep but you can’t and then when you finally do … you have to wake up … isn’t that always the way. Sometimes it can be as easy as just having a candle in your room that has a certain scent to it. Or just have a certain cup of tea before you go to sleep at night. Very interesting stuff.

Put Your Hat On

You should always put your hat on if you are going outside in the cold but did you know that on the contrary to what your mom use to day…you do not lose the most heat through your head which I found to be very interesting. Apparently any part of your body that is exposed will lose heat but after a study was research they found that there is no more body heat lost in your head than any other place on your body. For the most part only 10% of your body heat is lost though your head. But you should still were on because in my opinion it does keep your warmer and keeps the chill away.

Poinsettias Are Not Toxic

Here is something I thought was very interesting…Poinsettias are not poisonous. I was always told that they were when in fact they are not! There have never been the cause of death or even significan poisoning. Now, I would not go and eat the plant or flower but apparently when rats were giving the leaves and flowers which were equivilant to a human eating around 500 leaves…they found that the plant was in fact not toxic. So you can sit back and rest easy and assure that the plant you are giving as that nice holiday gift this year will not do any harm on the person that you are giving it too!

Better Than Sex?

I would love to know what others think on this one. I was reading something the other day and only 40% of people said that there is nothing better than sex. Some said massage and others even said wine and sleep. I was just wondering what other people think on this one. I think it really has to do with the person that you are having sex with. If your sex life is not that good…why not take a great massage over it or get a good nights sleep in instead. Just wondering what others had to say about this one.

The Tummy Tuck

Ok…I have really been thinking about getting that tummy tuck. I mean I had 3 c-sections and I just do not like my stomach and it is for my own personal reasons. I will not be wearing bikini bathing suits but I just want to feel better about my appearance. I think that cosmetic surgery is fine if you do your research and you are doing it for yourself and not for other people. If you are just getting something done for someone else then that is just not right. But if you have been thinking about this for month and years then why not right? What is the sense of wishing and thinking what if all your life!

Memory Foam

Wow..I just got this memory foam pillow and I highly recommend it.  It is just so incredibly nice and so comfy.  It was weird looking at first because it came all flat but then it fluffed up a bit but it is just so heavy and hard it seems.  But when you sleep on it your head just molds it way in the pillow and it is very comfy.  I am actually thinking about ordering a body pillow of the same thing.  I wish now that I would have gotton that memory foam mattress.  This is great to supporrt your neck and even back if you have back problems.
