In my last blog, I’ve talked about the importance of drinking lots of water to ward off bad breath. Another important point to remember is that lack of saliva also contributes to bad breath.
What’s the way to increase saliva production? The answer is simple. The best possible way to increase saliva production is to go for a daily breakfast. Never miss your breakfast. Please understand that you are taking breakfast after a long gap of over 12 hours.
You must have also observed that the moment food is taken, immediately bad breath goes away. It’s therefore vital that you should never skip your breakfast. Also, there should not be a long gap between meals. Go for limited meals with shorter duration than opting for heavier meals with longer duration.
The longer the duration between meals, there is more acidic formation in the body. Consequently, there will be less saliva production which gives rise to bad breath.
Timely food in smaller quantities will keep the bad breath at bay. In a nut shell, eat food more often in small quantities and keep the bad breath away.

In my last blog, I have discussed that constipation is a disorder of digestive system. Absence of free bowel movement is the primary cause of constipation.
Difficulty in bowel movement can also lead to formation of hemorrhoids which is a quite painful condition and is much more difficult to cure. Then what’s the best way to overcome constipation? I have also spoken about lack of fiber content in food that contributes to constipation.
Though the markets are replete with artificial laxatives like pills and powders but it is preferable to go for natural laxatives. One of the best natural laxatives is grapes. Daily intake of around 200 grams of grapes is considered to be effective even for a diehard constipation patient.
If the grape season is over, then one can go for raisins. Raisins soaked in water for over 24 hours may be used. This will work as a good laxative which results in free bowel movement.
These are some of the simple remedies for constipation.

According to a study conducted in Japan, consuming two and a half ounces of baby broccoli daily for about two months is likely to be an effective protection against diseases related to stomach such as gastritis, ulcer or stomach cancer.
Because, fresh broccoli sprouts are rich in sulforaphane which is a natural biochemical. Sulforaphane appears to trigger the production of enzymes in the gut that protect against oxygen radicals, DNA-damaging chemicals, and inflammation.
Sulforaphane is a powerful antibiotic against Helicobacter pylori, a bacterium that causes gastritis, ulcers and stomach cancer. Since Helicobacter pylori is classified as a carcinogen, according to researchers it thrives in the lining of the stomach.
A dosage of a few ounces a day of broccoli sprouts is enough to elevate the body’s protective enzymes. As Broccoli sprouts (baby broccoli) have a much higher concentration of sulforaphane than mature heads (broccoli) they are reportedly helpful in stomach related disorders like gastritis, ulcer and stomach cancer.
Why not eat broccoli daily and prevent disorders of the gut like gastritis, ulcer and stomach cancer.
