The Miracle Tea

My wife and I went to attend this seminar about this amazing health product known as the Miracle Tea.  We were late when we got  to the site, a large crowd was seated, mostly seniors with their assistants.  After a series of lectures and testimonies came  the main man, Dr. Tam Mateo. Dr. Mateo is said to be the first naturopathic doctor in our country and the inventor/developer of the herbal supplements known as the Miracle Tea.

The Miracle Tea ’s main proponent is the cleansing of the digestive system.  The first time I used it already has a good result as I went to the toilet several times.  My stomach feels light and relax.  The way I went to the toilet back and forth seems like I already flushed out all the toxins in my guts already.  But since this is our first time to use this product, I cannot conclude yet if this truly is a miracle tea. But for now, all I can say is that it feels good inside me. Just don’t try it if you  have prior commitment because definitely you will be needing to go to the bathroom every now and then. Make sure you’re home if you’re doing this.

Gout is one of the most painful type of arthritis caused by crystalline formation of uric acid in the joints.  This happens because of the kidney not working properly to excrete the uric acid in the body.  The symptom are pain and swelling in the big toes and other areas of the foot, fingers, elbows, ankles and other joints in the body.  The skin around the affected are turns reddish.  The usual causes of gout are being over weight, kidney not functioning well enough, eating too much purine rich foods

Drinking eight or more glasses of water a day will help the body to excrete uric acid. Water also decreases the chances of getting kidney stones.  Cut down body weight to normal, should be proportion to height. Exercise regularly to reduce the risk of gout attacks.  Avoid purine rich foods such as sweet bread, creamy sauces, seafoods, dried peas, herring, sardines, etc.  Also avoid organ meat such as liver and brain meat. Completely avoid beer and alcohol.  Instead, eat foods that decrease the attack of gout such as milk, cheese, fish, tofu and eggs.

Use icepacks to numb the pain.  Just place and hold the icepack around the area and keep it there.  This will numb the nerves around the infected area.

Just a drop of iodine can give instant relief.   Just be careful not to swallow it.

Crushed garlic has a quick acting pain relieving property, just don’t mind the strong pungent taste. try keeping it away from the tongue.

A freshly sliced onion can do the trick as well.  Make sure  the onion is juicy enough.

Gargle and rinse your mouth with warm salt solution. This can dislodge the debris that can’t be reached by your toothbrush. Salt solution has a mild antiseptic effect for pain.

Brush thoroughly the infected area, displace the debris that is causing the ache.

Use dental floss to massage the gum line and remove the bits of food stuck in between your teeth.

Clove oil can provide a powerful pain relieving effect. Soak one end of a cotton bud with clove oil and apply on painful tooth.

Dried peppermint leaves is highly effective too. Just apply it directly to the infected area.

Rinse mouth with alcohol like whiskey, vodka or brandy. Alcohol will act as antiseptic mouthwash.

Avoid prolong exposure to the sun. The ultra violet ray can damage your skin big time.  Stay inside when the sun is at its most intense moments.  If you can’t avoid it, at least wear a good sunscreen to protect your skin.

Apply water based (and not alcohol) lotion or moisturizer daily to replenish mosture loss and help trap water after washing the skin for a prolonged hydration process.

Wash your skin with mild soap which has no harsh chemicals that could destroy healthy skin cells and strips down natural oil in our skin.

Drink plenty of water.  Eight glasses a day will make your skin soft,  smooth and glowing.

Use a gentle toner to remove any traces of soap residue and to help tighten skin  pores.  Apply toner with a ball of cotton for a gentle cleansing.

Exfoliate your skin regularly. By removing dead skin cells with a gentle exfoliating scrub will give your skin a fresh healthy look and soft to touch too.  After exfoliating, apply moisturizer right away so that it will lock in the water.

Maintain a healthy diet and lifestyle.  Always have fruits and veggies as much as possible. Food rich in vitamin E is the best for the skin.

Brain foods are food that helps to improve the functioning within the brain.  There are many great foods that have been researched and documented to boost brain power. Knowing which foods boost brain power will allow you to make necessary dietary changes that will positively impact your brain.  These foods are a great way to start if you are interested of keeping your brain as healthy as you age.

  1. Wild salmon (not the cultured ones) tops the list of fishes because of its undisputed large amount of omega 3 fatty acids which are essential to power brain function.
  2. Acai berries and blueberries are some of the healthiest food in the world because it is rich in vitamins and minerals, a very potent antioxidant and also contains omega 3 fatty acid.  This combination of health properties makes it a perfect brain food.
  3. Dark chocolate is lightly processed cacao beans and coffee contains caffeine and other natural stimulants which enhances brain alertness and focus. It should be taken in moderation. (too much caffeine is bad, it should be taken in moderation)
  4. Nuts and seeds are rich in vitamin E, an antioxidant which protects the brain oxidative stress. Flax seeds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, almond, walnuts and  peanuts all provide these benefit. (these are also high calorie foods, it should be taken in moderation)
  5. Natural freshly brewed green tea matcha or stone ground gyukuru green tea powder is a great source of caffeine that boost brain power.  (It should also be taken in moderation.)

What is Probiotics

Our body, particularly our stomachs and intestines contains billions of bacteria and other live microorganisms. Probiotics is a dietary supplements or foods that contain good bacteria that are similar to those normally found in our guts.  These microorganisms can provide some of the same health benefits that the bacteria already existing in  your body do — such as helping with digestion and assisting in the protection against harmful bacteria.  In addition to supplements, probiotics can be found in such foods as yogurt, fermented and unfermented milk and some milkjuices and soy drink.

Lately there is a growing scientific interest in probiotics. Scientists are studying whether probiotics taken as foods or supplements can help treat or prevent illness. There is encouraging evidence suggesting that probiotics may help treat diarrhea, prevent and treat vaginal yeast infections and urinary tract infections, treat irritable bowel syndrome  or IBS and prevent children eczema.  Some research show probiotics may improve the overall well being of a person.  However, more research is needed to confirm the effectiveness of probiotics.  As with any dietary or herbal supplement, please consult your doctor before starting any new treatment

For the under weights and skinny, these are my simple tips to gain more weight and a healthy body.

To gain weight and still be healthy, you need to consume more calories every single day from healthy foods.  Dont worry, you will burn these calories anyway and convert it to energy for muscle building.

Choose the right exercise daily. Resistance training exercises like weight lifting will help increase your muscle mass.  This will help convert the calories into muscle rather than fats, thus stimulating your appetites to eat more.

Have a daily intake of multi vitamins supplement.  Develop muscle mass by increase intake of high protein supplement.  Resistance training exercise like weight lifting will help increase your muscles.

Eat foods rich in protein.  Get proteins from dairy products like milk, cheese, yogurt and ice cream.  Meat products such as eggs, fish, beef and pork meat are excellent source of protein.  You can also get protein from soya beans, nuts and some veggies and fruits.

Have a daily intake of multivitamins supplement.

Drink enough water, eight glasses a day.

Remember that anything in excess or too much is not good.  So make sure you will only consume enough depending on your age and height. Stay healthy and proportion.

How effective is Juice Fasting?

A juice fasting is an extreme form of detoxification type of a diet because you must not eat any solid food at all. The duration is usually three days.  A juice fast involves the intake of fruit juices, veggies and water. The proponents of juice fasting uses  fruit juice  because  its a good source of vitamins and antioxidants.

As you fast, your body will adjust by reducing your appetite, so you’ll feel less hungry. Your body is forced to dip into energy stores to get the fuel it needs to keep going, so you will lose weight. The big question is how long you’ll keep that weight off.  Once you’ve stop fasting, more likely your appetite hormones will be in full gear and you may feel hungrier.  When you eat less food, metabolism also slows down.  When you go back on your old diet, your lowered metabolism may cause you to store more energy, meaning that you’ll probably gain back the weight you lost and possibly even put on more weight when eating the same calories you did before the fast.

Juice fasting can be a great way to get antioxidant.  You may also loose some of  the unwanted pounds as well. But all of these great stuffs are just short term result. In the long run, it may not be as effective, instead, you’ll probably gain more weight than ever before.

Eat low calorie foods.  Cut calories by switching to lower calorie versions of your favorite foods. Think of  low-fat cakes and ice cream, low-fat cheese, low-fat drinks, etc

Buy small servings or share your food.  That way,  you cut your calories intake in half, and will still feel satiated.

Burn the calories with activities you enjoy doing.  It doesn’t have to be strenuous or anything that requires physical effort.  It is a lot easier to go walking, take the dog for a walk,  swimming, ride a bicycle, go snow skiing, play with your kids, and a whole lot more. Also try joining a dance club, cooking club, fundraisings, etc. Anything that will keep you busy but activities that you love.

Eat more fiber.  Increase your intake of dietary fiber which is filling enough to feel full but actually ate less.  It is recommended to eat more fruits and veggies and why not some whole grain cereals too.

Drink more water.  Water not only acts as a solvent for many vitamins and minerals but also is responsible for carrying nutrients into and wastes out of cells, so the body functions properly.  Eight glasses of water a day is a must.
