Do to my autoimmune disease I tend to have many digestive discomforts because some day’s food will agree with my body and other days it will not. I also struggle with inflammation in my body that sometimes affects my lungs and causes respiratory issues.
One of the things I enjoy eating is my strawberry pineapple fruit salad because these fruits contain high amounts of vitamin C, antioxidants, a substance known as bromelain, B vitamins, vitamin E, minerals and fiber. All these nutrients help relieve inflammation in the body and in the digestive tract while also preventing digestive issues such as heartburn, indigestion, constipation, diarrhea and irritable bowel syndrome. For me these fruits help me breathe easier and limit the amount of asthma attacks I have as well as provide my body with the fiber it needs so my digestive tract stays healthy.
The way to make my strawberry pineapple fruit salad is by taking three cups of freshly sliced strawberries and three cups of chunked pineapple and combined them together in a large bowl. Then I refrigerate the strawberry pineapple fruit salad for about an hour so the juices that come from the strawberries and pineapple can mellow together to create extra sweetness.
Once the salad is ready, I serve it up in small dishes and eat it up for a tasty healthy sweet treat that is good for the tummy and great for the lungs.
