Adverse effects of resveratrol

Resveratrol is a phytoalexin, a chemical compound found in plants. It is a compound antibody produced in plants when under the attack of bacteria, fungi etc.
Resveratrol is rich in grapes, peanut butter, boiled and raw peanuts, some varieties of red grape juice and wines. Resveratrol pills and supplements are becoming very popular among the health conscious people as it has benefits against cancer, diabetes, anti ageing, increased life span and overall body health. Resveratrol has not been reported with any life threatening side effects.
Though there are a few minor side effects of Resveratrol when consumed at higher dosages than prescribed. But the good thing about these adverse effects is, they are completely reversible. The right amount of Resveratrol dosage can be determined considering a persons weight. Although the research claims a 20 mg per day to be safe quantity, the Resveratrol pills manufacturers sell 500 mg and 1000 mg pills.
Theres no need to be alarmed at the dosage, as studies have shown only few people taking this dosage have reported anemia, anxiety and blood thinning. It is best advisable to take moderate dosage to avoid all the side effects. Also side effects of Resveratrol on a long run are unknown. Dangers of Resveratrol usage can be experienced by those suffering from Arthritic Pain; they can experience an aggravated pain when Resveratrol is consumed in higher dosages than recommended.
If you are not keen on weight loss then Resveratrol supplements need not be consumed as they function as calorie restricted diet. It is good to consult your doctor for Resveratrol if youre suffering from high blood pressure or any other heart related problems as you may experience palpitations and increased heart beat on consumption of Resveratrol in higher dosage. Prevention is always better than Cure.
