Balance

I know some people who take a very unbalanced view of eating, and really health in general. They avoid anything processed or with any additives because they fear they are putting toxins in their body. Might not sound like a bad idea except what they do eat is always unbalanced and in excess, loads of meat and cheese because the fat is good fat. Lots of dairy that hasn’t been properly pastuerized for whatever odd reason. These may be valid ways to be healthy, but they cannot make up your whole diet. You need fruits, vegetables, carbohydrates and fish to make a healthy and balanced lifestyle. The fact that some of these diet and health crazed people get so engulfed in one health idea and ignore all other means of nutrition explains why they end up with more illness. Their bodies aren’t properly nourished, they mine as well eat one well balanced meal a day and starve the rest, they would be healthier than they are eating loads of one food group. Its just kinda sad that some people take such an unbalanced view on nutrition. I mean come on, remember that food pyramid you learned about in grade school? I’d say its time to use it!
The Miracle Tea

My wife and I went to attend this seminar about this amazing health product known as the Miracle Tea. We were late when we got to the site, a large crowd was seated, mostly seniors with their assistants. After a series of lectures and testimonies came the main man, Dr. Tam Mateo. Dr. Mateo is said to be the first naturopathic doctor in our country and the inventor/developer of the herbal supplements known as the Miracle Tea.
The Miracle Tea ’s main proponent is the cleansing of the digestive system. The first time I used it already has a good result as I went to the toilet several times. My stomach feels light and relax. The way I went to the toilet back and forth seems like I already flushed out all the toxins in my guts already. But since this is our first time to use this product, I cannot conclude yet if this truly is a miracle tea. But for now, all I can say is that it feels good inside me. Just don’t try it if you have prior commitment because definitely you will be needing to go to the bathroom every now and then. Make sure you’re home if you’re doing this.
Roll of genomics in the future of Diet

Thanks to genomics, the science that maps and describes an individual’s genetic code. In the future, personalized DNA chips will allow us to assess our own inherited predispositions for certain diseases , then adjust our diets accordingly. So if you’re at risk for heart disease, you won’t just go on a generic low-fat diet. You’ll eat foods with just the right amount and type of fat that’s best for you. You’ll even be able to track your metabolism day-to-day to determine what foods you should eat at any given time, for any given activity.
As complex as all this sounds, it could turn out to be relatively simple.
Our ability to manipulate the sensory components of foods—the taste, smells and textures—is improving by leaps and bounds. In the decades to come, this will allow us to maximize eating pleasure by matching flavor with nutrition to a degree we’ve never known before.

Stress can be countered by a series of simple steps.
The first consideration is to create a balance in life, by deliberating making time to do things important such as spending time with family and friends. It is also essential to make time for rest and regeneration, which could take the form of pursuing one interest, be it painting, shopping, or anything else. Even starting out of the window or taking a walk is a great stress reliever.
Another way to counter stress is by not letting small things worry you, and always find out things from reliable sources that than collect information from vague and unreliable sources, and even if the news is bad, do not panic. Instead think of how the bad news can affect you and try to sole it in a rational manner.
Two cures to alleviate stress once it occurs it meditation and exercise. Meditation need not be a complex affair. A short break of five minutes, wherein one takes deep breaths would suffice. Likewise, exercise can also be simple, and even a brisk walk of ten minutes on a daily basis would constitute good exercise.

Stress is one of the most common and underestimated diseases. Stress effects an estimate one billion people in the world, and the number of people affected by stress on account of a variety of factors such as workplace and others grow every day. In fact, three out of four people experience some stress every two weeks, with half of them experience moderate to high levels of stress during that two-week period
Excessive stress manifests as several physical and emotional symptoms such as headaches, fatigue, muscle pain, lethargy, overeating, anxiety, and depression, and people tend to take recourse to alcoholism, substance abuse, tranquilizers, antidepressants and even suicide to relieve stress.
Stress contributes to heart disease, high blood pressure, strokes, and other illnesses in many individuals. It also affects the immune system and weakens the body, making it susceptible to many serious diseases.
How one sees life plays an important factor in determining stress. This combined by a change in daily routine or lifestyle could preempt stress before it reaches the stage where one would have to take recourse to professional help.

Avoid prolong exposure to the sun. The ultra violet ray can damage your skin big time. Stay inside when the sun is at its most intense moments. If you can’t avoid it, at least wear a good sunscreen to protect your skin.
Apply water based (and not alcohol) lotion or moisturizer daily to replenish mosture loss and help trap water after washing the skin for a prolonged hydration process.
Wash your skin with mild soap which has no harsh chemicals that could destroy healthy skin cells and strips down natural oil in our skin.
Drink plenty of water. Eight glasses a day will make your skin soft, smooth and glowing.
Use a gentle toner to remove any traces of soap residue and to help tighten skin pores. Apply toner with a ball of cotton for a gentle cleansing.
Exfoliate your skin regularly. By removing dead skin cells with a gentle exfoliating scrub will give your skin a fresh healthy look and soft to touch too. After exfoliating, apply moisturizer right away so that it will lock in the water.

Spare a thought for your eyes!

Our eyes are the most precious gift of God to us, but unfortunately we do not give them the required care. As a consequence, our precious eyes are subjected to innumerable dangers from dust particles in the atmosphere, sun’s harmful radiation, soaps and other harmful chemicals etc. This eventually leads to weakening of the eyesight, or other complications that may have a serious effect on our vision.
Eyes are our most valuable asset; it is hard to even imagine what our lives would become if our eyes were taken away from us. So why can’t we be a little more careful about them ? After all, it is our eyes that make us see the colors of this beautiful world. Wearing a little expensive pair of UV blocking sunglasses will not cost us the earth; but they will definitely add precious years to the longevity of a healthy retina. Washing the eyes with clear water once or twice in the day would help keep them clear of dust particles and other foreign objects that can cause irritation in the pupils. Anti-clockwise and clock-wise rotation would also help in easing the tension in our eye muscles after a constant workout during the day.

Like common colds, cough is one of the most frequent illnesses in childhood. There are some measures that you can do at home to keep your child comfortable during these times: First, persistent coughing episodes can cause sorethroat. You can give him hot drinks to soothe his aching throat. You can expose him to warm mist with a vaporizer or a nebulizer to relax the airway and the loosen the phlegm. Second, coughing also causes vomiting episodes. You can give him small frequent feedings to avoid vomiting. Third, encourage him to drink plenty of water. Fourth, do not let him get exposed to smoke because this may aggravate his coughing episodes especially if he has asthma. Fifth, you can buy over-the-counter medications available for cough. A cough suppressant is ideal for those dry, irritating cough that interferes with sleep. A mucolytic is given to a child with productive cough to loosen the phlegm. An expectorant aids in removing phlegm from older children. Of course, in an ideal setting, it is better to consult your pediatrician first before buying cough medicines.
