American vegetarian dinner.

Often when people think of vegetarian meals they are reminiscent of other cultures such as Italian, Mediterannian, Indian or Asian. American meals most often contain a large portion of meat as their dinner meal, such as roast beef, pork chops, burgers and ribs. Well, you can still have a vegetarian meal that is American, and here’s how:

Grill up some delicious veggie burgers from Morningstar. Serve these hot on whole wheat buns and use barbeque sauce as your condiment. These taste really delicious and compliment eachother well. Morningstar makes the best veggie burgers, in my opinion. Even better than Boca and Garden Burger.

Next, in the oven prepare sweet potato fries. These are healthier for you than regular fries and are nutrious too. Use a ketchup with low-sugar and made from organic tomatoes.

Serve the veggie burger and fries with a nice cold glass of homemade lemonade made with real lemons and cane sugar.

Happy BIRTH day to YOU

Yup, to you, MOM! If you biologically had your children, then you should celebrate the day you gave birth. It was truly an amazing experience like no other and you deserve all the credit in the world for enduring that. Remember all those contractions, screaming, sweating, hunger pains and crying? All that produced a little child you now hold in your arms or a teenager you can’t imagine was ever tiny enough to fit inside your belly.

If you wrote a birth story, go back and re-read it and relive those memories. Don’t concentrate on the negatives. Concentrate on what an adrenaline-filled experience it was for all involved. Can you believe you really gave birth? You should be honored for doing so!

So celebrate YOU as well when your child has a birthday. You really deserve it. Just don’t get too graphic with your kids, I don’t think they want to bask in those moments! ;)

I once read that eating celery burns more calories that it takes to consume it. So basically, if you eat celery, you will lose weight. I thought this was interesting. And at only $0.88 a bunch, there are numerous ways you can use celery in your diet!

1. Use in homemade soups and stews for a healthy touch.
2. Chop up and use in chicken salads and tuna salads, even fruit salads!
3. Smear peanut butter on it and add raisins for ants on a log.
4. Dip in honey for a tasty and nutritious treat.
5. Put fat free sour cream inside and sprinkle sea salt, pepper and paprika for a delicious snack.
6. Eat a celery with cream cheese instead of a bagel so save on carbs and sugar.
7. Use in vegetable salads for a yummy crunch.
8. Cut up in smaller sticks and take it to lunch with you as a mid-morning snack. Combine with cheese.

Crunchy Tuna Salad

Tuna is a protein that is lean and full of omega 3’s which are beneficial for your heart, brain, eyes, skin and more. It is a good fat that can help flush out bad ones. If you are a tuna fan, you probably like tuna anyway. But if you want to learn how to make it crunch, here’s how:

Take a can of tuna. Albacore is fine, but remember it has a higher level of mercury than regular tuna.
Chop up celery, tomatoes, cucumber, lettuce and carrots. Toss in with the tuna. Add in some lowfat mayo. Smart Choice has a healthy version with Omega 3’s you might want to check out. Mix all together.

Although it is already crunchy with all those yummy vegetables, here’s where it gets even crunchier and tastier. Add in some chopped walnuts. It will make the dish absolutely delicious. Serve on whole wheat toast or pitas.

Try to keep yourself happy

We are human beings; human beings have characters of to be in anger. Anger can be caused by variety of sources, such as family, friends, work relationship with your co - workers, and many many more to be considered. Those can be all sources to trigger your internal anger.

To be angry all the time is not a healthy living style. You should try to forgive in some way, and relieve yourself from all the anger you held inside yourself. Why not try to keep yourself happy this way. Anger also meant not happy. It is really painful if you can consider it this way. Because you can’t be happy, or laugh out loud if you keep yourself frowning. For instance, today I was angry with my co - worker, because kept on mumbling, while he misunderstood what our supervisor wanted us to do. For while, I consider it, if I kept on this way, I would never see the “sunshine”. Why not just forget about it. At the way, I can relieve myself a little.

So, for general advise, do not keep yourself in angry position all the time. Try to make yourself laugh.

Simply Water

Next to the air we breathe, water is the most essential element to our survival.  Drinking 8 glasses of water each day can decrease the risk of colon cancer by 45%, and bladder cancer by 50%.  Drinking water should always be clean and free from any contaminants.

When I was undergoing chemo therapy 6 years ago for Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, my doctor told me to remember water is your friend.  Drink as much as possible.  It wasn’t easy, but I did.

I never liked water, didn’t drink much when I was growing up.  I drank other drinks like juice, milk, and soda.  I have found, though, over the last few years that the more water I drink, the more I crave.  I love a tall glass of cold water anytime of the day.  And I like that it is so good for me.  A slice of lemon in your water is great and also very healthy.

H1N1 and Pregnant Women

The CDC says that pregnant women, who have flu symptoms, should see their doctor as soon as they notice these symptoms.  Symptoms include sudden fever, sudden cough, in addition to the other symptoms.  These other symptoms could include headache, tiredness, chills aching muscles, limb or joint pain, diarrhoea, upset stomach, sore throat, runny nose, sneezing, and loss of appetite.  Pregnant women are moving to the head of the line, for flu vaccine.  This is because if pregnant women become infected, they are more likely to suffer severe symptoms.  At present, in the US,  266 people have died of this influenza, of thoes there were 15 pregnant women.  That accounts for 6% of deaths, but pregnant women make up only 1% of the population.

It has been long known that pregnant women have been at increased risk for seasonal influenza.  The vaccine protects not only the mother, but also the baby.

Life coach skills

People turn to life coaches to help them improve or enrich their lives. Life coaches assist by guiding the person they are working with to reflect upon their life in a deeper way. Together, the life coach and the recipient are able to discuss issues, work on self reflection and formulate a plan in the direction of the journey they wish to take.

The skills of a coach include having an empathetic ear, being able to seperate the life coach’s feelings from the recipient and the willingness to dwelve into the unknown. They also must be prepared to offer exercises and informative information that the recipient will find helpful.

Each recipient has his or her needs and the life coaching session must reflect that. Each session is personal and meaninful to the persons involved, including the life coach. While one can draw from past experience, it is important to seperate your recipients and see them as individuals. Listen attentively and allow them to reflect upon their own process as well.

You should have plenty of time to rest

We all need plenty of time to get rest. From experts advised, people should have at least 8 hours rest in sleep. While not many people follow this advises. Due to many reasons; such as workload, and studying. Those are excusable reasons to believe. For other people, because of bad habits. For instance, my friends love to play video games, he might stay up late, and get 2 or 3 hours sleep at night. He have to get up early in the morning to work. Another friend of mine, who loves to party, he might stay up late too.

Some people might reverse their sleeping hours. A co - worker of mine told me that her son usually go to bed while she ready to go to work. That is definitely not healthy. We should maintain our schedule on sleeping. For example, if you have to get up early in the morning, you might want to go to bed around 9:00 P.M. or a little bit after. We all want to be refresh in the morning, not a sleepy head, don’t we? Lack of sleep, might also affect our work performance.
