Stuffy Noses

Stuffy noses are the worst to have. I would much rather have a cough than to have trouble breathing. But there are some things you can do to help alieviate the symptoms of the stuffy nose. Try these out.
Eat some spicy chili or a taco that is covered in hot sauce. This will surely help open up your nose. Or you could take a hot shower to open up the nose.
Try a medication of stuffy noses. This will give you a few hours of relief.
Another great thing to do it to rub your chest in with vicks at night. Or try putting it on your feet and then tossing an old pair of socks on them. I have never tried this but I have heard it works wonders.
You can also try nasal sprays. I am not a big fan of these as I do not like anything sprayed into my nose, but if it helps then it is worth a try.

Coconut belongs to the botanical family cocos nucifera. Incidentally, coconut is botanically classified as a seed and not a nut. Coconut is quite popular in several countries like India and South America. It’s interesting to know that every part of the coconut is used in some way or the other. In other words, nothing of coconut is wasted.
Coconut water is a natural isotonic beverage with an identical electronic balance as in our blood. Coconut water contains growth promoting properties and is in fact considered ‘fluid of life’. The following are the benefits of drinking coconut water.
• Coconut water is nutritious as compared to whole milk
• Coconut water does not contain either cholesterol or fat
• It contains more calories than orange juice
• It has more potassium, high chloride, less sodium and minimal sugar as compared to energy drinks
• It keeps the body cool during summer
• It’s a good detoxifier and effectively cleanses the digestive system
• It boosts metabolism, blood circulation, and immune system
• Natural replenisher of body fluids
Coconut water is cheaper than many carbonated drinks and much cheaper than energy drinks. Don’t you think you should daily consume coconut water - the wonder drink and maintain perfect health!
The Flu

We have all most likely had a case of the flu. But here are some tips to help you recover and get moving faster. If you do have the flu, take care of yourself the moment you become sick. Wash your hands often to stop the spread of the virus and try to stay away from people in general. This means no work or school or daycare.
Rest, rest, rest. Stay in bed or lay on the couch all day. Do not think that just because you are home sick you can be doing dishes or the laundry. Save it for someone else. It can always wait.
Increase your liquid intake. This will flush out your body. Try water, chicken broth, chicken noodle soup. Even Sprite or 7 up will do. Or try orange juice if your stomach can handle it.
Make sure you are eating as well. I remember being sick and my mother mixing mashed potatoes with chicken noodle soup so we got more nutritients to feed the flu bug. This will ensure that you get better faster.
Retreat

I was fortunate enough to attend a retreat this weekend in New Mexico, my home state. The beauty of the land is literally breathtaking. It is so gorgeous I can’t believe my eyes. Even though I’ve driven in Northen NM before, I am still always in awe of the beauty I find there when I go.
The retreat was at a very large and spacious ranch. There were acres upon acres of colorful, dry New Mexican desert. We were surrounded by the colorful mesa, which were very tall mountain looking rocks that I imagine have the geography of ancient times. It was remarkable.
We focused on our core while there, sending vibrating energy to stregnthening our core and stimulating our body to release toxins and live up to its potential. I had time to journal, reflect and think about new ways of healing. The stars were magnificant in the black sky and the campfire was mesmorizing.
Retreats are always good for the soul.

Artichokes can be healthful and delicious, as long as this doesn’t happen to you! Don’t get all artichoked up!
My recipe said that if you don’t have a steamer, you can boil artichokes, placed upright and arranged snugly in saucepan with a few inches of water. I think there was a typo, and what it meant was if you don’t have a steamer, don’t even think about boiling artichokes, placed upright and arranged snugly in saucepan with a few inches of water!

I saw this over on Boy and Girl Eat Out
Let me throw it out there: I love Southern food. I love biscuits,
grits, hush puppies, and sweet tea. I love Chik-Fil-A and the Boy loves
Waffle House. Goodberry’s is another Southern taste that our friends
and family told us to try.I was first disappointed by the scarcity of flavors. Chocolate, vanilla, a rotating special flavor, and a sugar-free vanilla. All this excitement for four flavors?
What do you think?

Don’t smoke: Smoking is harmful in general but especially after meals it becomes more harmful. Tobaccos leaves contain high content of acid which results into slower digestion because it converts protein of our food into complex and harder nutrition elements.
Don’t eat fruits immediately: It’s advised that fruits should be taken at least after one hour of meal or one hour before the meal. Eating fruits may cause stomach to be bloated with air which has impact on digestion.
Don’t drink tea: Tea leaves have similar impact as tobaccos leaves because they also contain acids which is harmful if consumed immediately after meals because it will make proteins harder to digest.
Don’t loosen your bets: When we eat and feel stomach tight, generally we loosen or belt for getting comfortable but it may harm intestine by allowing it to be twisted and coiled.
Don’t bath: While taking bathe after meals blood circulation will be increased in hands, legs and every where except stomach; decreased blood circulation around stomach will weaken the digestion process.
Don’t drink water: Don’t drink water at least half an hour before and after meals. Drinking water makes breaking of nutrition elements harder.
Don’t walk: Avoid walking immediately after meal because it restricts absorption of nutrition from food. Go for a walk after one hour of taking meal.
Don’t sleep immediately: Go to bed at least after 2 hours of taking meal in order to avoid gastric disorder and stomach infections.

Strawberries are the perfect fruit. Enjoy them in a pie or on top of ice cream or eat them raw with some fruit spread. Make a cobbler out of them. Make them into a jam if you have an abbundance of them as these little berries are full of benefits. Strawberries has a high level of vitamin C in them as well as many antioxidants that fight free radicals. They are great if you are constipated as well.
Strawberries provide a great source of vitamin K as well as maganese. They also have omega 3 fatty acids, copper, magnesium, folic acid, vitamin B5 and vitamin B6 in them.
Strawberries are the best when they are fresh but you can benefit from them when they are frozen as well.
A strawberry cut in half and rubbed over the teeth can also remove the tartar that is built up on your teeth. Who would have ever guessed that a fruit could do this?
