Encouraging Children to Drink Water
December 23rd, 2007 by Joyce PriddyWater is very essential for our bodies. Children are no different in this regard. In fact, it is very important that children get enough fluids to prevent dehydration and kidney or urinary tract infections. It is extremely important for children to drink enough water during the day.
If your child is very active, you should encourage them to drink water. You can start children young drinking sugarless flavored water drinks and even plain water. This will get them used to drinking water and make it easier as they get older.
Drinking water can help to reduce fevers. It is also very good to do on hot or warm days. Many times people forget about water consumption for children because they get other drinks during the day. Also, if the weather is cold parents tend to worry less about dehydration. Encourage your children to drink water to have healthy bodies and immune systems.
