Brushing for Better Health

Everyone knows that it’s important to brush your teeth frequently, and to floss daily, for optimum dental health. For some reason a lot of things about teeth have been crossing my path lately.
Like I just learned that you’re supposed to floss before you brush. That doesn’t make any sense to me, but apparently you loosen the stuff between your teeth and then brush off the stuff that may have stayed attached to your teeth. I always thought you brushed and then flossed to get what you couldn’t get brushing. I guess it doesn’t matter all that much as long as you do it, right?
Today I read that brushing after every meal may help you maintain a healthy weight. A Japanese study found that those who brushed after ever meal were slimmer than those who did not. Researchers concluded that frequent brushing could play a role in preventing obesity.
So if keeping your natural teeth, preventing gum disease, cavaties and bad breath isn’t enough for you, brush for your weight.
