The state of Massachusetts is gearing up to motivate its residents to get healthier. Governor Mitt Romney and other government officials have kicked off a public awareness campaign to encourage people to move as much or as little as they can each day.
“The more you move, the better you feel,” Romney said. The program is about using little everyday activities to get exercise.
A recent study found that 49 percent of adults in Massachusetts did not exercise regularly and 55 percent were overweight or obese. Alos, 18 percent of middle school students were found to be overweight, and almost 40 percent of schools were not giving students the recommended amount of exercise.
